Hearts ablaze with the fire of God

Image
I grow up in a generation that saw revival in Brownsville Florida, London England, Toronto Canada, Argentina, Belfast Ireland and probably a few more out there that I never heard about or I’ve forgotten. God was pouring out his spirit all over the earth. It seemed like the whole body of Christ was moving in that direction simultaneously, but now we are a generation of backsliders. We started in fire but we have been reduced to a few burning embers, guilty of a toxic indifference toward a generation that has never experienced God. We stopped seeking God. No more then a few decades later revival is nothing more than a far flung memory in the minds of a few 40 plusers that are to lazy to repent of the sin of inaction. The thing about embers is they are still hot, and we have a generation of young people that are spiritual dry. We need only a few embers and the right environment to have a church set ablaze again with the passionate pursuit of God that births revival. We need to return to o...

Carriers of the Spirit of Repentance

Image
I see a company of men and woman that walk in such close fellowship with God that they carry a weightiness that calls the lost to repentance. They will walk into a building and atmosphere shifts. They don’t have to say a word but men and women will be drawn to them, crying out “What must I do to be saved. There have been moves of God throughout history. The first great awakening was in Britain and in the 13 American colonies from the 1730s to the 1740s. The first great awakening gave us  preachers like John Wesley, George Whitfield, and Jonathan Edwards. This out pouring was marked by holiness, strong conversations and devotion to God. The second great awakening lasted from 1795 to 1835. During that awakening in 1801 at Cane Ridge Kentucky a camp meeting turned into 6 or 7 days of men and woman on mass coming under conviction and turning to Christ for salvation. The second great awakening was marked by camp meetings, it birthed the Methodist and Baptist churches and many Christian ...

A heart tender in utter abandon toward Holy Spirit

Image
We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out. We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. We consider living to mean that we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. So, then, death is at work in us but it releases life in you. 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 TPT We are an army of warriors with tender hearts turned in affection toward God and the work of his Holy Spirit. Able to discern spirits and abolish the functions of the evil one in the life’s of the people you come into contact with. A living br...

Ministers of Reconciliation

Image
“From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ,   be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:16-21 ESV) I see an army of young people raw and surging with a violent passion for Abba. They have the gentleness of a lamb toward the people they serve and minister the gospel of reconciliation t...

They love not there lives unto the death

Image
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (Revelation, 12:11). Remember, the truth of God's love burning in your heart can take you to a place you never imagined, doing things that  genuinely bring change to the world around you. God may direct you to a site where Christianity is hated. Your love for God may be the cause of your mortal life-ending or your body being bruised and broken by lost and hurting people that hate Jesus and hate you. But you won’t care because this life is not yours (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and the love you live for is worth the cost any day of the week. The love from Abba for Jesus that burns within you isn’t the kind that leaves you comfortable in your skinny jeans setting in your local coffee shop on your iPhone with witty Christian tweets. No, these encounters with Abba will take you from cyberspace straight up into the Holy place. It will cause a fire to burn deep in...

An Open Invitation to Discover Christ Love

Image
I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. Then, by always using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life. Then you will be empowered to discover what every religious one experiences—the great magnitude of the wondrous love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his passion! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your most extraordinary request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his mira...

The Hunger and limitless possibilities

Image
The cry of your heart must become ‘I wanna know you, Lord.’ I believe many times, and we make seeking God more about his hands than his face. God, I need you to help me’ with my finances, my career, my family, etc... not realizing that we put the cart before the oxen. We must seek His face; that is, we must seek to know him on a deeper, more intimate level. Beware of the religious spirit that aims to make it all about you and your ability to seek God more perfectly. This isn’t about your efforts. He is the author and perfecter of our faith. Real spiritual hunger is expressed through a heart postured toward Abba, that says ‘I wanna know you’ and  we only receive, we can not earn, revelation.  Abba wants a deeper relationship with you, and the greatest prayer you can pray to him is ‘ I wanna know you, Abba.’ Shortly after my initial encounter with the love of Abba, he gave me a mental image of a child playing in a kiddie pool on the beach. Then I saw him taking buckets of ocean ...

Knowing who you are hinges on knowing whose you are

Image
If you are anything like me, you grew up in a tongue talkin’, bible believin’ church that was all about experience and little to no focus on theology. I remember being told and believing that theology would lead to a “pharisaical spirit” because knowledge puffs up, so expertise is terrible. Know, that being said, I do believe that knowledge without experience is awful, but it is by no means worse than experience without knowledge. The truth is we all have a theology; sinners and saints alike all have a belief of who God is, what he is like, and so on. Whether our theology is good or not, it is nonetheless theology. Who you believe God is, is the foundation for your spiritual life and will ultimately determine what kind of Christian you will be. I felt for years that God is a good God and that he performed miracles and the cool stuff you hear of him doing, but I also saw him as distant and as a God that withholds. I knew he loved me, but whether or not he liked me was up for debate; tha...

Do You Believe, God, Is Good

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. Worship is pure, or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God.” -A.W. Tozer Do You Know That God Is Good Two words we hear a lot as Christians are theology and doctrine. For the most part, we have a basic understanding of these words and what they mean. These are the definition I found online. I want to break them down in a way that maybe you haven’t heard before and maybe get you to think in a new way. theology | thē-ŏl′ə-jē ...The study of the nature of God and religious truth; a rational inquiry into religious questions. doc·trine | \ ˈdäk-trən \ a principle or position or the body of principles in a branch of knowledge or system of belief: DOGMA Catholic doctrine The foundation of the wrong Doctrine is bad Theology. The cure for lousy Theology is a relational experience in the knowledge of God. Having an intellectual understanding and acceptance of God is not going to be enou...

You Are Accepted

Image
Whenever our hearts make us feel guilty and remind us of our failures, we know that God is much greater and more merciful than our conscience, and he knows everything there is to know about us. My delightfully loved friends, when our hearts don’t condemn us, we have bold freedom to speak face-to-face with God. 1 John 3:20-21 TPT In this passage, we see that God is much greater and more merciful in his thoughts toward us than even our conscience. Often we find that the only thing keeping us from spending time with Jesus is a sense of not be good enough. Our hearts condemn  us, leaving us feeling uninvited and orphaned from the Presence of Abba.  Know that you are accepting into the beloved (Eph 1:6). You are in Christ (Ehp 2:6). You belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to the Father ( Col 3:23). We have been invited into a relational experience with the Father by way of the Son. Christ's death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and enthronement was and is for you. Abba wants a r...
